The Big Local Partnership has been set up 4 years ago with Big Lottery funding to help the communities of Kingsbrook Ward and Cauldwell in Bedford.
It is a very important project and if you want to get involved then please let us know so we can pass your details to the Chair for contact purposes.
The aims of the project are as follows:
To strengthen confidence and pride in the community so that local people take responsibility for working alongside and where necessary, challenging agencies that deliver local services.
To let people know about the great things that the area has to offer and make sure that our community facilities are well used and supported by local people.
To make our neighbourhoods safer places to live, play and work, to reduce peoples fear of crime and attitudes to “anti-social” groups and instead to cultivate a strong sense of community spirit and confidence.
We want local people to have the chance to spend their leisure time pursuing enjoyable, safe and affordable interactive activities and interests.
To remove barriers that prevent some people from taking part in community life and encourage links across the whole community, celebrating the richness of our cultural diversity
To support local people to access more training and help them with learning/employment/leisure.
To enable more people to use the internet, either at home or at local facilities.
To help all local children and young people to be able to feel good about themselves, make the most of the opportunities that life can offer, and do the best they possibly can.
To address any other issues to make Kingsbrook and Cauldwell a better place to live, work and study.
