Me meeting Police at a Community Event on Harrowden Road in August 2023
Bedford Borough council meetings for me start again next week – 29th August – after a short break since July.
As your local councillor for Kingsbrook Ward, at the last FULL COUNCIL meeting in July I pressed the new executive on several matters:
HOUSING – Making sure people with families and No Recourse to Public Funds continue to be served by the Council via Social Services when they are homeless and have nowhere to live (page 14)
JUBILEE PARK – Giving Condolences to the family regarding the stabbing in Jubilee Park this summer
Requesting that the council continues to work with Police and local partners in keeping people safe
Asking the council to contact the Police and Crime Commissioner to ensure these incidents are worked upon and dealt with
Agreeing to meet the new portfolio holder for community safety in Jubilee Park to request a Environmental Visual Assessment to confirm if anything else can be introduced in Jubilee Park to keep people safe (all page 15)
HEALTH – Asking the council to look at Capital Funding projects to help increase the GP estate within Bedford Borough so more GPs can be recruited
The whole Council agreed with our Liberal Democrat motion that this is something the new executive needs to look into (Page 20)
